Dr. Samia Abdelnabi

Dr. Samia Abdelnabi

Director of Women's Health Strategy & Initiatives

As a nurse scientist and nurse-midwife, Dr. Abdelnabi's work focuses primarily on advancing reproductive and sexual health and improving quality of life among women from Southwest Asian, North African (SWANA) and Arab American and minority populations. Her work examines the social, cultural, and religious factors that shape women's reproductive and sexual health knowledge, experiences, and access to care.

Dr. Abdelnabi's previous research included exploring the lived experiences of second-generation Muslim American women with infertility and examining how sociocultural and religious factors influence decisions to seek reproductive health treatment.

Her work aims to develop culturally responsive programs that promote reproductive and sexual health education, increase access to care, and improve health outcomes for women in racial, ethnic, and historically underserved communities, particularly within SWANA and Muslim populations. Her future work will focus on developing and evaluating interventions that address reproductive and sexual health disparities and promote overall well-being among women and families.
